Assam Harmony loose leaf black tea from Adagio Teas has a pleasant sweet-earthy and somewhat malty taste that makes a great morning cup of tea. This Indian black tea is plucked from a second flush and is known as a "tippy tea". This is because some of the leaves have golden tips which are responsible for the teas sweeter side.
Out of all the black teas from Adagio, this variety is one of my favorites as a breakfast tea along with Chinese Keemun (English Breakfast). After brewing for five minutes, the tea produces a dark red liquor and full-flavored cup that goes well alone or with a splash of milk or sugar. A full heaping teaspoon per mug-sized cup is a good amount for a nice brew.
However, if over-steeped, this tea has a tendency to go bitter, so keep an eye on the time.
I recommend this black tea, and as always, please let me know what you think and send your comments for posting on this page.
