While a lot of online outlets cover most of the above, many do not, and searching the internet for a good tea shop can take a while. Luckily you will not need to do so as this site can recommend with confidence both Mighty Leaf Tea and Adagio Teas.
I personally buy tea from them as you can discover on the "Reviews Page", and have enjoyed many varieties over the years. To visit these great tea stores, please see the links below --->
Tea Types & Varieties White Tea
Buy white tea in loose form! It has a delicate flavor and airy aroma with some varieties offering a hint of natural sweetness. For folks who wish to consume the healthy benefits of green tea but have not yet adopted the taste, white tea is a perfect choice.
Varieties: "Silver Needle", "White Peony", "Snowbud", "Song Yang", and "White Orchard". The Common Black Tea
The most popular of the four main types of tea is black tea, the world’s most consumed type consisting of hundreds of varieties. The flavor varies as it can be sweet, bitter, earthy, malty, chocolaty, or smoky.
Varieties: "English Breakfast", "Irish Breakfast", "Earl Grey", "Assam Teas", "Ceylon Blends", "Chinese Keemuns", and "Darjeeling" black teas. And as always buy black tea loose leaf style. Selecting Green Tea
Every tea shop will offer green tea! And while it is true it may seem a bit vegetal or "grassy" at first, after drinking several cups your palate will soon open up to it and new flavors and subtle nuances begin to reveal themselves.
When you buy tea of this variety, avoid tea bags since it are these that contribute to giving this beverage a bad reputation. Loose leaf greens are the way to go for true flavor and health benefits. Sorry to sound redundant, but it is most important!
Varieties: "Dragon Well", "Pi Lo Chun", "Sencha" "Gyokuro", "Kukicha", "Hojicha", and "Monkey Paw"...plus many more. About Oolong Tea
Oolong (wu long) tea is a cross between black and green teas. It's flavor can be floral, sweet, or woody depending on the variety and the level of oxidation it undergoes through processing.
Oolongs consist of the largest leaves, in some cases they can be over an inch once steeped, so it is recommended that a large infuser be used when brewing.
Varieties: "Tu Kuan Yin", "Formosa Oolongs", "Wu-yi Tea", "Jade Oolongs", "Jasmine Oolongs", and "Pouchong". Herbal Teas
Both Adagio and Mighty Leaf tea stores have a great selection of herbal tea to choose from. Also known as tisanes, this category falls outside the range of traditional tea since they originate from different plant species which are the leaves, roots, bark, stems, flowers, and other parts.
They have their share of benefits with Olive Leaf Tea (see nava bar) offering the most powerful and diverse of all!
Varieties: "Chamomile", "Lemon Grass", "Peppermint", "Spearmint" "Rooibos", and various Fruit Varieties. So that is your quick buy tea resource guide. There are many more varieties to discover and the above list can be quite extensive. But for purposes of quick reading I just mentioned the more popular ones that folks purchase.
