Ceylon Waltz tea kind of gets an even amount of like and dislike on the Adagio Teas Reviews board. Some folks say this is a nice crisp tea, others feel like it is just "ok", and some do not prefer it at all.
As for me, I feel that this tea is similar to its cousin "Ceylon Sonata", save the fact it is a tad bit less tarty and “citrusy”, and more on the smoky/malty side. Not as smoky or strong as Chinese Lapsang black teas, but just enough to treat the palate if that happens to be a fancied nuance.
Then again, that is how it may be for some who brew it plain, but...add a teaspoon of sugar and a splash milk or cream, and this tea changes its attitude! For a Sri Lanka tea, it makes a fair breakfast tea that would go good with eggs, pancakes, or even some cereal.
I would not say skip this one since it does not go bitter and does a good job holding its taste even as it cools. If you're on the ropes and not sure, order a sample size.
That is one of the coolest things about Adagio Teas!
