Dragon Well Green Tea

When it comes to drinking a famous Chinese green tea, Dragon well I have to say is my favorite. It is like the Chinese version of the famous Japanese green tea "Sencha" which I have also grown to love.

Also called Longjing, Dragon well tea is the best of the Chinese greens; and for good reasons too. The broad flat leaves give a perfect balance of color, aroma, and taste when brewed. It is the perfect cup of green without a strong grassy taste, and is great for newcomers.

The tea's name meaning "lair of the dragon", is taken from a legend where people in the Hangzhou Zhengjiang Province believed lived a dragon by a local spring. The tea is considered to be the exlir of health and is sold throughout the world.

The history of this tea goes back some 1000 years appearing in the first book about tea during China's Tang Dynasty; although it wasn't given its name until sometime later.

This royal tea was given great acknowledgement by the Chinese government in the early 20th century. These efforts including further promotion of it, as well as more advanced ways of planting, harvesting, and roasting the tea.

This prized tea has a long deserved life that offers great health benefits along with sipping enjoyment. Trust me, you will more than likely seal this as your favorite Chinese green tea!
