3 Glass Kettle Brands To Consider

Below is a quick review of 3 glass kettle brands worth considering. Two are stove top, the last one is an electric model.

please note that any kettle made of glass poses a serious hazard if both caution and common sense are ignored. NEVER boil dry.

1) Adagio Teas Water Kettle

This stylish kettle offered by Adagio Teas receives many positive customer reviews (on Adagio.com), and folks love to watch the bubbles quickly dance to the top!

Adagio's Glass Kettle

This kettle is made of a more thinner glass, and will boil water faster than the Medelco kettle (below). However, some feel a bit uneasy due to its seemingly "fragile" construction. But so long as you take care and use caution, this glass tea kettle is pretty safe.

Quick Stats

  • like the Medelco will work on all ranges...gas, electric, and even ceramic
  • is made from a tempered borosilicate glass
  • design boils water very quickly
  • heat resistant handle
  • large top makes it easy to fill and clean
  • dishwasher safe
  • *does not whistle when water is done

  • At a little more than double the price, some may lean towards a Medelco glass kettle. But Adagio's model has a more attractive/contemporary look and feel to it and will heat water quicker.

    2) Medelco 12 cup Whistiling Glass Kettle

The Medelco 12 cup glass kettle is probably the most common one, and can be found at most retailers. It is also the less costly of the three despite having its share of benefits.

    Medelco Glass Kettle

    Quick Stats

  • offers an audible and noticeable removable whistler
  • large cool touch grip
  • easy to fill & easy spill free pouring
  • thermal-shock resistant
  • can be used on both gas and electric stoves (use included trivet for electric ranges)
  • dishwasher safe
  • visible cup capacity levels on body

  • At under $20, this kettle is an affordable and easy way to boil water for coffee, tea & hot chocolate, all in a speedy manner. The Medelco kettle weighs just 2 pounds and will look handsome in any kitchen! At time of writing, it receives 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon's customer reviews page.

Then again, there is always the electric option...which brings us to:

    3) Capresso H20 Plus Electric Kettle

The most expensive item listed on this page, but also the most favored. This stylish kettle is not for the stove top and instead plugs into a socket to do its job.

    Capresso Kettle

This water kettle may be a little on the small side, but is perfect for making that single cup of tea or instant coffee for when you're in a hurry. It's small design and classy look also makes it perfect for the office too when hot water is needed.

    Quick Stats

  • 1.5 quart capacity
  • is cordless for no hassle pouring
  • will heat water just as fast as a stove kettle
  • concealed heating element under base
  • auto shut off with boil dry protection
  • large slip free handle
  • full 360 swivel base is perfect for right and left hand people

  • While this may seem like a great glass kettle, it does receive some 1 star reviews on Amazon.com which I recommend folks check out before purchasing.

On the flip side, it has earned a greater amount of 5 star reviews, so there are mixed feelings about this product...most of which have to do with the silicone rubber washer that seals the base.
