Product of Adagio Teas

Probably one of Adagio's most awesome medium depth greens, Green Anji green tea produces a cup that has a brilliant yellowish/green liquor color which yields a soothing and mellow aroma and flavor. Aside from the Sencha teas, currently this is one of their more vegetal varieties. Anji being more on the mellow, lighter side.

This loose leaf green tea is perfect as an afternoon cup and will also go well chilled when enjoying iced tea due to its slightly stronger taste. For folks who like grassy green teas but do not want something as robust, this variety is a nice one to try. The flavor is not overpowering and has a perfect balance of depth and aftertaste.

Brewing this tea is not so tricky either. The instructions on the tin (steaming water for 3 minutes) is perfect. No need to guess with this one. If you prefer an even stronger cup add more leaves rather than steeping longer. Adding fresh ginger to this beverage also goes great as the tasteful notes from each mix well making it more on the spicy side!

Half a teaspoon of honey also picks it up too for those who favor a sweeter cup. Despite its rather medium flavor, it is a very versatile green.

Green Anji green tea is a Chinese variety that is harvested in the Zhejiang region of China. Adagio Teas states that the name translates to 'safety and prosperity' which is somewhat of a token to the multiple health benefits green tea has to offer us.

The dark greenish leaves of this tea is definitely worth steeping for folks who wish to graduate from white tea and try something with just a little more vegetal flavor!
