White Tea vs Green Tea

white tea vs green tea

White tea vs green tea, which is better?

A study done at the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University has revealed that white tea was more successful in destroying disease-causing organisms than green tea. Another study found that white tea is better than green tea at preventing the growth of tumors in rats and mice.

Is white tea the best tea?

White tea is approximately 10% more powerful than green tea. A cup of white tea has more antioxidants and powerful catachins than a cup of green.

White tea also has less caffeine than green tea since it goes through virtually no processing. This is good news for people who want the benefits of green tea, but are caffeine sensitive.

White tea vs green tea concerning taste.

Some folks dislike the grassy undertones associated with certain varieties of green tea. White tea has a more subtle and sweeter taste than green, and in most cases the "vegetal" taste is unnoticed.

Varieties like Silver Needle and White Peony are considered the best white teas and provide a light calming taste.

So if you are interested in obtaining the many benefits of green tea, but do not like the taste, give a cup of white tea a try and see how your palate is rewarded!

And remember that brewing loose leaf tea is always the way to go! You will never experience the true taste from a tea bag.
